Darren Halliday is the CEO of HALICO, providing market expertise to publishers, authors and educational technology businesses. Darren believes in the importance of advancing technologies in education and the need to adapt. Prior to HALICO, he held the position of Representative Director at the Japanese subsidiary of Macmillan Education, part of the SpringerNature group. At Macmillan, he developed the local digital strategy and successfully restructured the distribution model to increase profitability and allow for market expansion and growth.

Haruo Ono has 35 years experience working for foreign-affiliated companies,  and has served 25 of them in a senior management position for 3  companies and managed their Japanese subsidiaries. Haruo recently held  the positions of Executive Director of the Academic Association for  Copyright Clearance in April 2015 and then, in June 2016, moved back to  the UK-headquartered media and information-service industry and  appointed as Sales Director-ASPAC/AUS at Parma Intelligence | Informa.

Andrew Boon is a professor in the faculty of Global  Communications at Toyo Gakuen University, Tokyo. He has been teaching in  Japan for over 20 years. He holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from  Aston University. He has presented at numerous domestic and  international conferences and has published articles on teacher  development, motivation, and methodology. He is also author and  co-author of textbooks and graded readers for English language learners.
